What are Pure Colors?
Pure colors, also known as hues, are the most saturated and vivid forms of color without any addition of black, white, or gray.
These colors exist on the color wheel and include the primary, secondary, and tertiary colors in their most intense forms.
Types of Pure Colors:

Primary Colors – Cannot be created by mixing other colors:

Secondary Colors – Created by mixing two primary colors:
- Green (Blue + Yellow)
- Orange (Red + Yellow)
- Purple (Red + Blue)

Tertiary Colors – Created by mixing a primary color with a secondary color:
- Red-Orange
- Yellow-Orange

- Blue-Green
- Blue-Purple
- Red-Purple
What Makes a Color "Pure"?
- No black (which would darken it, creating a shade).
- No white (which would lighten it, creating a tint).
- No gray (which would dull it, creating a tone).
Pure colors are the most vibrant versions of each hue and are often found in natural light spectrums, such as in rainbows.
